Julie Hutchings is a Wiradjuri Clarence Valley based artist.
Julie is a full time artist who has won numerous awards both locally & nationally throughout her career.
Drawing is a major discipline & julie conducts life drawing sessions once a week in Grafton.
Julie has been featured in 2012 Portrait Artists Australia & several art magazines & newspaper articles she has also been featured on ABC 7.30 Report on Anzac Day 2019.
“I am predominately an oil painter & believe a strong drawing forms the bones of a good painting therefore most of my time is dedicated to this discipline. Many of my works are reflections of my own personal journey.The images I create are a direct response to events that have shaped me both as a person & artist. I have a strong connection to the land & a love of animals that reflect in my art. Energy, expression & emotion are key elements when I draw & paint,with an underlying story behind the scenes that gradually presents itself on completion..I TELL STORIES.”
