Crispin Akerman is a visual artist living and working in the South West of Western Australia. He grew up in the Perth Hills then Wanneroo where he spent his spare time in the bush, drawing, painting, and playing music. He went to Claremont art school for a brief time before joining Perth band Eurogliders. After finishing his studies in Canberra he pursued his interest in painting. He does not work from photographs but from life and nature. Crispin Akerman work is influenced by the local history and natural environment of the South West of Western Australia.
