The shore break is where the two great surfaces of the planet meet, the land and the sea, and the resultant interaction creates a conflict of colour and form, light and dark, warm and cool, dry and wet.
In creating these paintings there is also a technical contrast between the broad loose under painting and the finer more precise surface tension that echoes, in a physical application, the opposing forces of the moment.
