DINNER WITH KEN DONE – FRIDAY DECEMBER 1st, at GALLERY ONE
Launch of book ‘Ken Done Paintings You Probably Haven’t Seen’ and first Solo Exhibition with Gallery One.
Gallery One hosted a ‘Dinner with Ken Done’ on Friday, December 1st to celebrate his first exhibition with the Gallery ‘Paintings You Probably Haven’t Seen – Selected Works 2000 – 2017’. Ken, wife Judy and daughter Camilla and Janine from The Ken Done Gallery in The Rocks Sydney, mingled with Gallery One clients in what was a fun-filled evening , combined with a sumptuous four-course dinner catered by Spendelove, at the Brickworks. Live music was provided by Gold Coast guitarist Jason Kiesling who entertained with jazz,classical and blues. Ken was the ultimate speaker, talking about his first encounters with Australia’s colourful reefs as a young man to mixing with British Royalty in some very amusing anecdotes and tales. His passion for his painting practice and creative expression with feeling is truly reflected in the paintings currently on view – pretty and joyful, colourful and heartfelt. It was a wonderful evening and we look forward to many more!
