Suey McEnnally

Love Songs to Planet A

November 7 – November 28, 2020

The beautiful landscapes of Suey McEnnally entice with a richness of texture, line and mood. Mastering the luxurious medium of oil pastel, McEnnally covers the picture plane with sweeping gesture - building up layers and delineating space as she creates enormous energy across the surface. The strength of her line recalls Japanese calligraphy and its simplicity, woodblock print.
Suey McEnnally was the winner of the prestigious Paddington Art Prize in 2012. Suey was also a finalist in other significant art prizes such as the Dobell Drawing Prize which hung in the Art Gallery of NSW. A previous finalist in the Sulman Prize, AGNSW, Paddington Art Prize, and winner Eco Art Award 2002 and Peoples Choice, Mosman Art Prize 2004, Suey is becoming widely recognized as one of this country’s leading contemporary landscape artists.
